Final Life by Rose Garcia Blog Tour Character Interview

Eight lives. You'd think Dominique would get it right, but she's failed every time. Now on her final life, Dominique must discover the secrets of her past before confronting the Transhuman hunter who wants to kill her for the last time. Farrell, a mysterious Transhuman protector, and Trent, a hot guy from school, want to help. But it's up to her to get it right.

Character Interview for Trent Avila
Who is Trent? Trent is a guy that Dominique meets at her new school in Houston, Texas. He’s an all-around awesome guy—great grades, athletic, a good Catholic boy who provides for himself and his grandmother. (His parents were killed in a car crash when he was little and his grandfather died of cancer a few years after that.) He falls HARD for Dominique and ends up becoming crucial to her quest for survival. For more about Trent, check out the revealing interview below.

Q: If you were granted three wishes, what would you ask for?

A: That’s easy. I’d ask for my parents back. They died in a car crash when I was little. I’d also ask for my grandfather who died of cancer. My last wish? I don’t know; get a good job after college or something like that. I’d like to not worry about money anymore.

Q. What’s the most important thing in your life? What do you value most?

A. The most important thing in my life right now is my grandmother. She’s the only family I have. As for what I value most I’d say my faith. It keeps me on track, keeps me going.

Q. How do you feel about your life right now? What, if anything, would you like to change?

A. Well, my life is pretty good right now. I’m on target to make the top two percent of my class and I feel good about my chances of getting into Rice. The only thing that’s messing with me is this girl I just met. I don’t know—there’s something about her. Anyway, as for what I’d change, I already answered that.

Q. When and where were you the happiest?

A. My grandparents took me to Disneyworld when I was ten. It was the best trip ever. It also turned out to be our last trip because my grandfather started treatment for cancer soon after. But I’ll never forget all the rides we went on together. He was the coolest.

Q. What is it that you most dislike?

A. I hate it when people lie. But people do it all the time, especially girls.

Q. What do you most value in your friends?

A. Between my grandmother, schoolwork, soccer, and my job, I don’t have a lot of time for friends. But when I do hang out, I guess I value the fun. The good times. You know, hanging out and not worrying about stuff.

Q. How would you like to die?

A. I’d like to die in my sleep as an old man.

Q. What is your motto?

A. I don’t know if it’s a motto, but I often tell myself to keep moving forward. If I keep moving forward, things will work out. So far, they always have.

Author Info:
Rose Garcia is a lawyer turned writer who’s always been fascinated by science fiction and fantasy. From a very young age, she often had her nose buried in books about otherworlds, fantastical creatures, and life and death situations. More recently, she’s been intrigued by a blend of science fiction and reality, and the idea that some supernatural events are, indeed, very real. Fueled by her imagination, she created The Transhuman Chronicles—a series of books about people who have overcome human limitations. The first in this series is Final Life. Between juggling family life with her husband and two kids, Rose is working on the companion to Final Life. So stay tuned!
